What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser so it can remember something the next time you visit — that you are signed in, or what you chose last time. Some are needed for a site to work at all. Others are optional, and we ask before setting those.
Reeplot is two sites: reeplot.com, which tells you about the product, and app.reeplot.com, where you make videos. They use different cookies, so they are described separately below.
On reeplot.com
The first time you visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to count your visit. Nothing optional is set until you answer, and declining changes nothing about how the site works.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| reeplot_consent | Reeplot | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so we do not ask on every page. Necessary. | 1 year |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and which pages are read, with your rough location and device. Only after you press Accept. | Up to 2 years |
On app.reeplot.com
The app sets no analytics or advertising cookies. It uses only the cookies it cannot work without: the ones that keep you signed in, set by Clerk, the service that handles our sign-in. They last while you stay signed in and are removed when you sign out.
When you pay, you do it on Stripe's own checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there to prevent fraud; they are covered by Stripe's privacy policy, not this one.
Storage in your browser
The app also keeps a few preferences in your browser's own storage rather than in cookies: your teleprompter settings, whether the preview plays with sound, which app frame you preview in, the Director voice you picked, which guided tours you have seen, and enough about an upload in progress to resume it if your connection drops. Some short-lived notes last only as long as the tab is open.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Changing your mind
Press Cookie settings at the bottom of any page on reeplot.com to see the question again and give a different answer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking the necessary ones will sign you out of the app.
If this changes
If we start using a cookie that is not listed here, we will add it to this page before we use it, and ask again if it is optional. The date at the top says when this page last changed.
